"I GOT A STORY TO TELL"

I knew I wanted to be a filmmaker after witnessing the work of Georges Méliès in Scorsese's magical film-about-film, Hugo. I made my first short that night with practical effects made from legos, scarves and paper. I was 11 years old and 14 years later, I'm still hooked. Since that first film, I've made over 30 others, including my first feature-length film assembled together with my best friends and fellow filmmakers, Paige Jones and Hannah Herzog. Together we started our Production company, Citrus Studios, where we collaborate on projects inspired and led by women.

Most of my inspiration comes from the fantasy/sci-fi era of 70s and 80s new-wave films: practical effects, weird and wonderful storytelling, characters who are determined, noble, and far braver than they realize. Folklore, fairytales, aliens, zombies, and Shakespeare have shaped my creative brainwaves. My goal as a filmmaker: let's bring that magic back.
